Photography is my passion. I shoot with a Nikon D90 and D80. My primary shooting lens is the Nikon 18-200 VR. I also shoot with the Tamron 17-50 f/2.8 and a Nikon 50MM f/1.8. I'm constantly trying to improve my skills and techniques. Please feel free to comment on any of my galleries and if you know how I can improve on anything, feel free to leave me feedback.

I started trying to catch up on my comments this morning but then the phone rang and I got called in for a job interview (yea! first interview I've had since I got lad off at the beginning of April!)
Long story short - I had to do research on the best way to interview so I can increase my chances of getting the job.
I PROMISE I will get caught up tomorrow!

July 1, 2009 - the Dancers

7-23-2009 Taken up at Rocky Mountain National Park on Sunday - I haven't had time to shoot any pictures this week, so I'm pulling this from last weekends shoot. I'm just getting around to processing some and hopefully I'll get some posted in a gallery here soon. I was using a 16GB card someone had given me (and yes-I know I shouldn't put all my eggs in one basket, but I never in a million years would have thought this would happen to me!) When I put my card in the card reader and plugged it into the computer it started downloading and then I had this error screen pop up telling me that windows was unable to save the data on drive G. OMG!! I almost cried!! Then I remembered reading about a program that recovers files and it worked! And I almost cried again! Anyway, if anyone is interested in what program I used please feel free to contact me and I'll send you a link! I would have lost 675 pictures (plus the respective RAW files) so you can understand the panic I was in.
Thanks so much to everyone for the comments and support on the job interview - I was just so excited about getting an interview I had to tell everyone I knew!

6-16-2009 - Our dog 'Lucy'. She's such a ham!

6-19-2009 - I had to go buy some ladybugs because my fllowers and roses were covered in aphids! I hate those mean bugs! Anyway, it looks like most of the aphids are gone and here are some of the heroes who helped me get rid of them.

7-14-2009 pretty in pink

7-15-2009 took my daughter to the premier showing of the new Harry Potter movie this morning at 12:01am. these guys were happy to let me photograph them! We got home at 3:30am and my daughter got up at 1:00 this afternoon!lol!

6-28-2009 Fire in the sky - a Colorado sunset. I have a hard time trying to capture the colors in the sunsets - I hope this one does it justice.

6-24-2009 Bachelor Button in my garden. Sorry I missed a couple of days, life gets in the way sometimes. I don't know how you people can post everyday! I am trying to get to that point, so please be patient!

Day 4 - low light - this is a small place near our house that you can reserve for special occasions (weddings, parties, etc.) very quaint place.

7-30-2009 A path well used - taken at Bear Lake in Rocky Mountain National Park

7-20-2009 - Freak hailstorm that happened about 10:15pm tonight in Lakewood, CO. Most of the Denver-Metro area got hit hard. I'm waiting until tomorrow to see the real damage done to my jeep. I'm hoping the leaves helped cushion the pounding hail, but it started out at golfball size. It was so loud inside the house we were yelling to talk to each other standing 2 feet apart! I haven't seen a hailstorm this bad in years! I opened the front door of the house about 4 inches to peek out and got hit in the shoulder and I now have a huge welt and bruise - over 2 hours later and it still stings. Sorry about the poor quality of this pic - it was still sprinkling a little when I took this so it was point and shoot and get back in the house. The white truck on the left side of the photo is my hubby's. We have 3 vehicles to check for damage tomorrow!

I have missed a couple of days due to being out of town for the Worldwide photo walk on Saturday. I will start processing the pics tomorrow and get some posted. I will also get caught up on the comments. I had an issue with my memory card - will explain more in tomorrows post due to it being past midnight already and I think I'm starting to babble!
